complement. Video is a good medium for conveying messages that can influence people's perceptions and definitions of social reality. The aim of this research is to explain the depiction of urban community life in the video clip Idgitaf – Takut. The object studied is the video clip Idgitaf – Takut because the video clip shows a representation of urban society in the city of Jakarta. The formulation of the problem in this research is to reveal what kind of representation of urban society is shown in the video clip Idgitaf – Takut. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with Roland Barthes semiotic analysis. Data collection was carried out using observation and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the research, the video clip Idgitaf – Takut represents how urban society lives as a working community which is facilitated by various modern infrastructure, but there are phenomena such as inequality, poverty, air pollution, traffic jams, etc.
