Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of knowledge about the sport of petanque in Ngawi Regency, because petanque is a new sport in Ngawi Regency, therefore the researcher aims to determine the interest in petanque sports among students, especially at Temulus Vocational School, Ngawi Regency. This research method uses quantitative methods. The data collection technique was carried out by filling out a 1-5 Likert scale questionnaire and processing the data using SPSS. The population of this study was all class X students at Temulus Vocational School, Ngawi Regency. And the sample consisted of 25 male students and 15 female students, so the total sample size for this study was 40 students. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, because the samples used are samples that fall within the selected criteria. From the results of this research, data was obtained from 40 respondents. around 45% of respondents know about the sport of petanque and the basic techniques of the sport of petanque as well as the aspects contained in the game of petanque. Apart from petanque sports, 28.75% of respondents have the desire to take part in petanque sports, and 37.87% are motivated or want to play an active role in participating in petanque sports. So it can be concluded that the research with the title Petanque Sports Interest Survey at Temulus Vocational School, Ngawi Regency obtained results that 37.87% of class X students had an interest in participating in petanque sports.
