Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest batik producers in the world. The batik process requires a lot of energy and takes a long time to make, especially for the batik stage which uses a batik stove with kerosene. Therefore, the aim of this research is to create an electric batik stove that uses environmentally friendly solar energy to replace kerosene fuel with renewable energy. For the design of the batik stove itself, there is a heating element, a DC voltage control potentiometer, an Arduino Nano as a microcontroller and a Gy-906 temperature sensor. The temperature results detected by the sensor will be displayed on a 16x2 LCD. Voltage and current data collection from solar panels, batteries and loads was carried out for 3 days, varying greatly according to the weather when testing the equipment. The average power produced by solar panels for 3 days is 31.84W. The average power produced by the battery for 3 days is 9.81W. The average power produced by the load is 39W. Based on the test results of the electric batik stove, when the potentiometer was at 25%, the batik wax was still solid, when the potentiometer was at 50%, the batik wax was starting to melt, when the potentiometer was at 75%, the batik wax was looking, and when the potentiometer was at 100%, the batik wax was completely liquid. A comparison of electric batik stoves with conventional batik stoves obtained an inaccuracy value of 5.61%. From this research, the test results show that the tool can work well in melting batik wax.
