Abstract
Background: Assessment of student skills, especially nursing students, is the most important measure that must be achieved to assess student competence. Nursing assessment in the form of written and practical examinations using the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) method, which is a psychomotor assessment designed to identify clinical skills. OSCE exams are held and observed directly by examiners, so they can cause fear, weakness, and anxiety in students. The aim of this study was to provide an overview of nursing students' anxiety levels ahead of OSCE practice exams. Research Methodology: This study was conducted using a descriptive survey method of 97 students. Anxiety levels were measured using a modified Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) anxiety questionnaire. Research Results: Results The results showed that 58 respondents (59.8%) did not feel anxiety, 28 respondents (28.8%) experienced mild anxiety, 5 respondents (5.2%) expressed moderate anxiety, and 6 respondents (6.2%) indicated that they felt severe anxiety. From the results of the questionnaire response, it is known that the symptoms most often experienced by students are psychological and cognitive symptoms such as fear and nervousness. Conclusion: The majority of students are not anxiety of OSCE nursing exams.
