Abstract

One important sector that acts as the main source of food availability for the Indonesian population is the agricultural sector. Hydroponic farming is a new solution to the problem of limited agricultural land and is the latest innovation to increase the younger generation's interest in agriculture. The use of solar panels can reduce excessive use of electrical energy in hydroponic farming systems. The thing that needs to be considered in a hydroponic farming system is the quality of the water that is the planting medium. Several factors that influence the quality of water as a planting medium are water circulation and water pH levels. Sometimes, plant owners do not have enough time to carry out routine checks, so the author created a tool to carry out monitoring and control automatically over a distance to make it easier for farmers to check water quality. There is an Arduino Uno as a data processor in this tool and an ESP 32 for sending data to the Blynk application on a Wifi network. Arduino Uno is connected to a pH sensor to measure the pH level of water. If the pH value of the water does not meet the set point, the control system will automatically activate or deactivate the relay connected to the pump in the container containing the pH up and pH down solutions to be mixed into the planting medium. The quality of the water produced is in accordance with the pH value which has been adjusted to the setpoint value of 6-7 pH and water circulation runs smoothly. The error value of the pH sensor is 1.77% and the power generated from the solar panels can supply load energy for 6 hours.
