Abstract
Ta'aruf is the process of getting to know a partner based on the teachings of the Islamic religion with marriage as the ultimate goal. The ta'aruf process of Islamic organizations is different from one another because each has its own policies and limitations or rules. This research focuses on interpersonal communication between couples of LDII Soloraya residents who are in the process of ta'aruf. The aim of this research is to find out how interpersonal communication occurs in the ta'aruf process of young couples of LDII residents in Soloraya. The theory used in this research is Social Exchange Theory. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. To obtain research data, researchers collected data through in-depth semi-structured interviews. According to the theory used, researchers succeeded in drawing the conclusion that there are potential advantages and disadvantages in this research. This gave rise to the final result that the ta'aruf time that occurred in this research tended to be fast and short. And communication between individuals in this research did not occur directly but through the intermediary of the local LDII management.
