Abstract
Indonesia's internet usage reached 88.1 million people, or 34.9% of the population, on August 10, 2015. Social media has become a valuable tool for businesses to connect with customers and compete, with the Indonesian Economic Association (MEA) emphasizing its importance in promoting new products and services. Social media can improve business relationships, increase business growth, and improve customer service. However, businesses must adapt to the development of technology and the changing landscape of the business environment. Data analysis is a method that helps identify data characteristics without making a general judgment. Qualitative data analysis is an analysis that reveals semantic relationships between variables. UMKM (United Nations Economic Mission) is a crucial strategy for overcoming economic crises and achieving national growth. Effective strategies will make it easier for the public to understand and create a flexible workforce. Digital media must carry out sales and marketing channels through digital media, such as websites, social media, video and digital audio. This social media has helped social media become a challenge for MSMEs to be able to survive amidst the current competition. This social media has helped this social media is a business advantage that this social media has not helped. The research results show that MSME employees use social media to promote products, especially Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which improve performance and awareness, and increase product visibility in the community.
