Abstract

The sandwich generation, which has to live through the lives of more than two generations, dominates the current productive age group. This group can force lower class members into financial hardship by requiring them to make expensive purchases, and many of them suffer from physical and mental exhaustion. Resilience is necessary for the sandwich generation to shift their perspective on stressful circumstances and see them as opportunities for growth and challenge. They also require a plan, the courage to grow from adversity, and sincerity in performing their duties. The objective of this study is to investigate the resilience process within the sandwich generation, identify resilient attitudes within this generation, and comprehend the resilience dynamics within the sandwich generation from several demographic angles. This study employs a qualitative methodology. Eight informants met the study's requirements, which included being in their early or middle adult years, working for a modest wage, renting or living at their parents' house, and providing for a large family. Interviews were conducted as the method of data gathering. Triangulation is the method used to verify the accuracy of the data utilized in this study. The author uses data analysis techniques and makes reference to the IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) model. This study discovered that the informants' toughness was developed through a number of procedures. They are beginning with embracing the circumstances they are now in, developing the ability to endure difficult situations, overcoming hardship, and adopting a good outlook on life. The positive and domineering attitudes of the informants demonstrate their rigid attitudes. Aside from that, gender, and residential location all affect how difficult someone is.
