Abstract

The development of entrepreneurial activities has played a significant role in guiding young people to start businesses since their college years. In the rapidly evolving field of entrepreneurship today, it is expected that students can innovate by creating products that contribute to the development and growth of the community's economy. The entrepreneurial spirit expected to be instilled in students involves taking risks, creativity, innovation, and managerial skills in identifying and addressing opportunities. The existence of the Wirausaha Merdeka Program aims to instill entrepreneurial spirit in students. The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, especially Wirausaha Merdeka (WMK), at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta is expected to be a solution to create flexible and quality learning in higher education. This program is expected to establish a new culture of learning that is engaging, innovative, and tailored to the needs of students, thus enhancing the competence of university graduates. The implementation of this program consists of four segments, with the first segment being an entrepreneurship workshop, followed by the second, an internship in MSMEs to sharpen students' skills through direct experience. The third segment involves business pitching activities and the creation of prototype products, including presentations to a panel of judges. The fourth segment comprises an expo to market the products created to the community commercially. The impact of implementing the Wirausaha Merdeka Program at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta is to assist students in understanding and honing their entrepreneurial skills. This is expected to equip them with the necessary skills to prepare themselves for graduation.
