Abstract

Indonesia has tourism potential that can attract tourists, both local and foreign, with a variety of traditions and cultures, ancient relics, history, natural beauty, and flora and fauna in it. After the pandemic, tourism in Indonesia has experienced a significant increase, especially tourism located in conservation areas, one of which is National Parks. Wasur National Park (Taman Nasional Wasur) is one of the many National Parks in Indonesia, precisely in Kabupaten Merauke, South Papua. In its management, the Balai Taman Nasional Wasur not only focuses on conservation activities but also on developing community-based ecotourism activities and facilities by involving the community as the main actor. The aim is to optimize the potential of natural tourism in Wasur National Park and empower local communities in the management of the area. The development of Community-Based Ecotourism in Wasur National Park is an effort to facilitate the sustainability of ecotourism activities in Wasur National Park, especially in utilization zones. With good arrangements and the provision of supporting facilities for tourism activities, it is hoped that ecotourism activities can take place well and have a positive impact on the local community.
