Abstract

PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk is an Indonesian public company with the largest shareholder, namely PT Semen Indonesia Industri Bangunan (SIIB), concentrating as a cement producer in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. With a total capacity of 14.8 million tons of cement per year. The problem found was how to manage spare part inventory control, which numbered more than 100 spare parts. In companies with the problem of reordering parts used for packing machine maintenance, they only use forecasting and history methods regarding minimum and maximum spare part stock values. The methods used in this research are the ABC (Activity Based Costing) method and the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) method. The aim of the research is to find out which spare parts are prioritized and to calculate the optimal number of purchases, safety stock, reorder points and the maximum amount of inventory for prioritized spare parts inventory. Also to compare the company's conventional method with the ABC and EOQ analysis methods which is more optimal. The results of this research are that using the ABC method, the types of spare parts that must be prioritized are category A spare parts with a total of 27 types of spare parts with an investment value of Rp. 112,205,766 and the investment value percentage is 78%. The ABC and EOQ methods used in the research can save costs for spare parts which are prioritized compared to the company's conventional method for total inventory costs which have a difference of Rp. 17 380,768 from before optimization or 44%, with a lower ordering cost of IDR. 18,816,372 from before optimization while storage costs are higher by IDR. 1,435,604 from before optimization. So the most influential thing is ordering costs, because ordering costs are calculated from the number of purchases in one order and are affected by the number of requests in one period. Meanwhile, storage costs are calculated based on the number of items stored and are not affected by the number of requests in one period
