Abstract

In the city of Serang you can often see children working on the streets. Starting from busking, begging, looking for junk, or even helping his parents around selling food. Street and neglected children often get a negative stigma from society and experience economic exploitation by adults, including their parents, they are vulnerable to physical, social and sexual violence. Street children and neglected children are an example of a group that cannot fulfill their rights even though children at that age should be in school to study, not used to make money on the streets. Based on these problems, the authors propose a Marginal Children Community School design, which is an educational facility for street children and neglected children that provides integrated facilities in the form of academics, training skills, health and social services that connect schools, students families, the community and the surroundings by applying the concept of behavioral architecture. The image of a community school building is divided into 3, namely: educational function, community function, and other supporting functions. The application of the concept of behavioral architecture in a community school is implemented through the shape of the building, spatial zoning, materials, space flexibility, space comfort, and space safety.
