Abstract
Land is defined as a place of foothold and human activities as well as a place where plants and animals live, which consists of various aspects including the biosphere, atmosphere, soil, geological layers, hydrology and populations of living things as long as there is an influence on land use, including the results human activities in the past and present. Pacitan's main agricultural products are rice, cassava, cloves, coconut and cocoa which have only been cultivated in the last few years. The potential for mining materials is also quite large in the Pacitan area. The objectives of this research are (1) Analyzing the potential distribution of agricultural land based on the Land Potential Index in Nawangan District, Pacitan Regency. (2) Analyzing the land potential index value in Pacitan Regency, Nawangan District through a land potential index map. The method used in this research is a secondary data analysis method, a method in the form of maps and other information. On the results of research that involves the use of existing data. The land potential index in Nawangan District consists of 3 potential classes resulting from data processing, namely class 1 with a very low position, class II with a low position, and class III with a medium position. The very low potential class in Nawangan District covers an area of 7421.10 Ha, the low potential class covers an area of 5027.26 Ha, the medium potential class covers an area of 39.33 Ha, the medium IPL class agricultural land has an area of 39.33 or 1% of the total area in Nawangan District, land with low IPL class has an area of 5027.26 Ha or 40% of the total land in Nawangan District, agricultural land with very low land potential has a total area of 7,421.10 or 59% of the total land available in Nawangan sub-district and is a broad IPl class compared to other IPl classes.
