Abstract

Environmental pollution is one of the factors causing environmental damage. Waste water is the remaining water that is disposed of from households, industry or other public places and generally contains substances that can be harmful to health. One effort to manage the environment is processing domestic waste water using the filtration method. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using a grease trap on the processing of FOG liquid waste and the effect of the COD results obtained. In this research, a tool in the form of a Grease trap was used. This research used three variations of concentration, namely (200; 600; 1000 ppm). With a residence time of (0.5; 4.25; 8 hours). Based on the results of research using a grease trap, it shows that the use of a grease trap to reduce the concentration of oil from waste water can be proven, but it is less efficient in reducing the concentration of COD levels. The analysis carried out in this research was a Completely Randomized Factorial COD Analysis Design. In the Anova RAL Factorial F table, two variations of 0.05 and 0.01 are used. In the anova table obtained it is known that the F hit value is smaller than the F table value so that it can be stated as different or has no real effect.
