Abstract
The bullwhip effect is a condition where demand for products increase from retail to suppliers. An increase in demand variations at the consumer level can causean increase in demand at the next level of the supply chain. Purpose of this study to determine whether there is a bullwhip effect at PT. XYZ which can reduce the company effectiveness and the strategies to reduce the bullwhip effect in the company’s supply chain. Forecasting methods is used as a strategy to minimize the bullwhip effect in this study. Forecasting methods are techniques that are used to estimate or predict some phenomenon in the future. This study uses data obtained from company sources with one type of product, a variation 500 ml from July 2021 – June 2022. The results of this study showed that forecasting method especially the 3 month moving average method and the 4 month moving average method can reduce the value of the bullwhip effect under parameters 1,006688889 in 15 retail out of total 50 retail.
