Abstract

The productivity of a job is influenced by many things, one of which is the work system. To get optimal productivity, it is necessary to design a good work system. Thus workers can do work more actively and achieve pre-set targets. PT. Berkah Bumi Independent is a company engaged in manufacturing plywood. Many workers in rotary stations complained about the turnaround time they had to chase and were exhausted. This research was conducted based on physical environmental factors, equipment factors, worker condition factors and organizational factors, with the purpose of this study is to propose improvements to the work system using the Macroergonomics analysis and design (MEAD) method in order to increase worker productivity. Based on analysis and data processing, the measurement of the worker's pulse was obtained CVL = 38.66%, get an additional 11 minutes of rest time was obtained, for a total of 71 minutes. Increase in yield by 10% in the manufacture of veneer products.
