Abstract
The purpose of this study is to observe the leading sectors and identify the sectors that contribute the most to the competitiveness of the economy in Boyolali Regency from 2017 to 2021. This research utilizes time series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), namely the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Boyolali Regency at constant 2010 prices by industry for the years 2017-2021, as well as the GRDP of Central Java Province at constant 2010 prices by industry for the same period. The methods employed in this research are the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share Klasik (SS) analyses. The research results reveal the presence of 7 leading sectors out of 17 in the GRDP of Boyolali Regency, as they exhibit an average LQ value greater than 1. The Shift Share analysis indicates that the components of national growth (Nij), industry mix (Mij), and competitive advantage (Cij) have fluctuating patterns during the period from 2017 to 2021. Overall, the leading sectors and those with high competitiveness in Boyolali Regency are agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; manufacturing industry; construction sector; education services sector; health and social activities sector; as well as other services sector.
