Abstract

The Orphanage is an institution that educates underprivileged and orphaned children with a focus on Islamic character. The caregiver plays an important role in shaping the child's character. Character education, especially Islamic character, is the main concern. Implementation of character education in Islam focuses on creating characters that are in accordance with religious teachings. The Putri Aisyiyah II Kadipiro Orphanage is an informal institution that plays a role in shaping the religious character of its foster children, with activities such as sunnah fasting, tahajjud prayers, and religious lessons. Caregivers in orphanages act as substitute parents, providing welfare services to children, and helping them grow into individuals with Islamic character. This research aims to find out how Islamic educational values are applied at the Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage (PAYPA) II Kadipiro, as well as factors that support and hinder the implementation of Islamic education. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and document study. Data validity techniques such as source triangulation and engineering triangulation are used to ensure data validity. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis method. The results of the research show that the implementation of Islamic educational values at the Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage (PAYPA) II Kadipiro aims to develop the Islamic knowledge, skills and character of foster children through learning and habituation activities that focus on basic Islamic values such as creed, worship and morals. Supporting factors include an Islamic environment, the role of caregivers, structured religious education learning, children's motivation, and local community support. However, there are inhibiting factors, such as the diverse backgrounds of foster children who require special attention and the influence of the external environment, including schools and peers outside the orphanage.
