Abstract
This study aims to 1). Describe the legal policy for electronic-based trials during the covid-19 pandemic; 2). Describe the effectiveness of conducting electronic-based trials against children in conflict with the law. This type of research is a juridical-empirical research with a qualitative non-doctrinal approach. The legal policy for electronic-based trials during the current COVID-19 pandemic is based on Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2019 concerning Electronic Court Case Administration and Trial and Supreme Court Regulation Number 4 2020 concerning Electronic Court Administration and Trial of Criminal Cases. At the level of implementation at the Class IB District Court, Boyolali Regency, electronic child criminal cases are running effectively, which in 2020 has held 11 electronic child criminal case trials. However, non-technical obstacles were still encountered during the trial. Therefore, the implementation of electronic juvenile justice cases needs to be supported by adequate electronic systems and devices as the Decree of the Director General of the General Judiciary Agency Number 1693/DJU/SK/HMO2.3/12/2020 concerning Standardization of Online Court Facilities and Infrastructure in Courts General, including in the case of juvenile justice. Keywords: Children, Legal Effectiveness, Electronic Justice.
