Abstract

The People are competing to learn worldly knowledge and forgetting afterlife knowledge such as Al-Qur’an so that skill in reciting Al-Qur’an is low however most of them don’t even aware their reading quality. This research aims to know people’s awareness, supporting and inhibiting factors, difference of perception between ordinary people and theologian in the importance of reading Al-Qur’an with good and right reading rules. The methods in this research uses qualitative paradigm with field study research type, psychological-anthropological approach, diversity of people’s awareness level on tahsinul qiro’ah as the object of research, used data collection techniques are interview, observation and documentation, used data validity is source triangulation with theologian as the difference source and Miles and Hubermen Interractive data analysis technique. 18 persons are involved in this research which consisted of 15 ordinary people and three theologian. The results show that in reading Hijaiyah letters, all theologian and five ordinary peoples are clear and fluent, seven ordinary peoples are not fluent only and three ordinary peoples are not clear nor fluent. All Subjects are aware in importance of learning, but not all ordinary people are aware with their reciting quality. 5 subjects are in mastery awareness level, 7 subjects are in aspiration awareness level and 3 subejcts are in mass awareness level. Supporting factors are motivation, environment dan guidance. Inhibiting factors are economy, desperation, and unavailability of good teacher. There isn’t difference between theologian’s and ordinary people’s perception.
