Abstract
The aim of this research is to minimize distance and distribution costs by determining a better distribution route than before so that PT Madu Baru's sugar delivery process can run more efficiently and at a lower cost using the Saving Matrix, Nearest Neighbor and Nearest Insert methods. The data used in this research is sugar distribution data on March 20 2023 by taking 20 retailer data. The data collection method in this research uses observation and interviews with the company such as Madukismo sugar demand data, retailer data, and vehicle capacity data as well as using the help of the Google Maps application to determine the distance of the retailer from the PT Madu Baru warehouse. Distribution costs on the initial route before the research was carried out were IDR.1,489.773. Based on the new route obtained from the calculation of the Saving Matrix method and a comparison of the results of data processing using the Nearest Neighbor method with the Nearest Insert method which is adjusted to the existing vehicle capacity at PT Madu Baru, obtained distribution costs of IDR.1,272,023, and savings of IDR.217,750, on March 20, 2023.
