Abstract
Social presence plays an important role in communicating both in person and online. It's the same with online internships where a social presence needs to be present in it. The Web Conferencing Platform is a means to facilitate online internships to connect participants who cannot meet in person due to distance and time separation. The Zoom Meeting application is a Web Conferencing platform used in online internships. The purpose of this study is to find out how social presence is in implementing the MBKM internship online at the Hasnur Center Foundation. The theory used is the theory of social presence (Social Presence Theory). This study used a qualitative method using interviews as a data collection technique. The results of the study show that social presence in the implementation of online internships includes: (1) closeness, identified from the camera that is turned on during the internship, the use of chat features, limited camera range, smooth communication with other media, and a more lively communication atmosphere when on cam . (2) immediacy, identified from the frequency of meetings with the mentor, the intensity of the internship, the multi-activity during the internship, the noise during Zoom, the microphone turning off when the mentor is presenting the material, the network as a barrier in conveying information to the mentor, the microphone that is turned on during the internship, entry and exit of participants in the Zoom room, and participants' experiences when experiencing intermittent sound.
