Abstract
This research was motivated by the failure to achieve the target of memorizing the Al-Qur'an for students at the Al-Kahfi Islamic Boarding School, Surakarta. One way to overcome this problem is through strategies from halaqoh teachers. The role of the Halaqoh Teacher is really needed by students who are memorizing the Al-Qur'an. So it is important for Halaqoh teachers to apply the right strategy, so that students' memorization improves and they are able to complete the targets given by the Halaqoh teacher. The aim of this research is to analyze the Halaqoh Teacher's strategy in improving students' memorization of the Al-Qur'an at the Al-Kahfi Islamic Boarding School, Surakarta. The type of research used is qualitative, using a descriptive approach. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the data triangulation technique. The research results showed that the strategies used by Halaqoh teachers at the Al-Kahfi Islamic Boarding School in Surakarta were the Double repetition strategy, No strategy, and Deposit strategy to Halaqoh teachers. There were supporting factors, namely: students who had learned Tahsin, motivation from people closest to them. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are: Santri do not master makharijul letters and tajwid, Santri do not have patience, Santri cannot manage their time
