Abstract
School is the main means for the future in obtaining education. Laweyan District is one of the sub-districts in the city of Surakarta which is famous for its batik village, apart from that it has several levels of schools starting from elementary school, middle school, high school and vocational school. This research aims to analyze the distribution pattern of school locations in Laweyan District and analyze the affordability of public transportation to schools in Laweyan District, Surakarta City. This research was obtained directly or from a survey in Laweyan District, Surakarta City. The survey technique method was carried out by plotting the location of elementary, middle school, high school and vocational school education using GPS Essentials to obtain coordinates in the form of X and Y. Apart from that, the research used the ANN (Average Nearest Neighbor) and scoring methods. The results of the school distribution pattern in Laweyan District are that SD is Clustered or clustered which is influenced by settlements, Middle School is Random or randomly influenced by roads and settlements, SMA is Dispered or uniformly influenced by roads, Vocational Schools is Random or random which is influenced by roads. The result of the affordability of public transportation for schools in Laweyan District is the construction of public transportation facilities that pass through schools in Laweyan District which are 71% affordable. The reach of public transportation that is not reached by elementary schools is 39 and that is reached by 11 schools; SMPs that are not reached are 7 schools and that are affordable are 17 schools; There are 2 high schools that are not reached and 4 schools that are reached; The vocational schools that are not reached are 5 schools and the ones that are reached are 9 schools.
