Abstract

Rice fields have seen less usage as a consequence of the quick transition from one land use to another in the Boyolali Regency. Other land uses have taken their place. Population expansion is one of the factors that might lead to alterations in land use; as a direct consequence of this trend, rice fields are increasingly being replaced by other types of agricultural land. In general, the function of rice fields is to provide the primary staple food that is required to fulfill daily dietary requirements. The following list outlines the goals of this research: (1) to study changes in paddy land usage in Boyolali Regency for the period of 2015-2023 using images from Sentinel 2A. (2) to conduct an investigation of the amount of food that can be carried by the Boyolali Regency in the years 2015 and 2023. In this study, the methods of descriptive quantitative analysis and classification based on the Maximum Likelihood Algorithm were used. Additionally, the food carrying capacity was determined by using the food carrying capacity formula. According to the findings of this study, the total area of rice fields in 2015 was 30,195.55 hectares (ha), but by 2023, this number had decreased to 28,839.62 hectares (ha). This demonstrates that there has been a transition from rice fields to other types of fields over a total area of 1,355.93 hectares. Boyolali District and Mojosongo District both went through a period of rapid transformation. The second finding is that the Boyolali Regency has three distinct classes of food carrying capacity, with class I being the lowest. In 2015 there were 11 sub-districts, namely Sawit District, Karanggede District, Klego District, Simo District, Nogosari District, Sambi District, Ngemplak District, Teras District, Banyudono District, Ampel District and Andong District and in 2023 there will be 10 sub-districts, namely Klego District, Andong District, Simo District, Nogosari District, Sambi District, Teras District, Banyudono District, Ngemplak District, Ampel District and Sawit District. In class II, there were six sub-districts in 2015, including Mojosongo District, Juwangi District, Kemusu District, Selo District, and Wonosegoro District. In class III, there were two sub-districts in 2015, including Cepogo District and Boyolali District. In class III, there will be five sub-districts in 2023, including Cepogo District, Wonosegoro District, Karanggede District, Glad
