Abstract

Educational institutions play a very important role in shaping a superior society. Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School is a boarding-based school with modern education methods. The community thinks that Islamic Education Institutions only teach about religion and are very behind for this modern life. Therefore, researchers want to know what the efforts of the Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School are in improving students' Life Skills, programs and types of students' Life Skills, inhibiting factors and supporting factors in the students' Life Skill program. This research uses qualitative research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the Life Skill improvement program of the Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School has been running in the daily lives of students. Pondok has many programs to provide Life Skills to students both in language, personality etc., for example, muhadhoroh, organization, competitions, the use of Arabic and English in the daily lives of students, rotating prayer imams and artistic activities. The supporting factors are the demands of the santri guardians and the cottage's desire to create smart, superior and skilled santri, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of motivation of the santri in participating.
