Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between peer social support and self-adjustment with self-esteem. This study uses an approach quantitatively using statistical methods multiple correlation techniques. The population in this study were female students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with the criteria for active undergraduate students. Sampling used the Accidental Purposive Sampling technique with a sample size of 109 students. The analysis technique in this study was multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS 25 Statistics. To obtain data, researchers used 3 psychological measurement scales, namely the self esteem, peer social support scale, and self adjustment scale. Based on the results of the study, there is a relationship between peer social support and adjustment to self-esteem obtained an F value = 32.749 and a significant 0.000 (p<0.05) and obtained an effective contribution of 38.2%. Then on the minor hypothesis of peer social support with self-esteem shows a positive relationship by obtaining a value of 0.589 and a significant value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and an effective contribution of 33,64% is obtained. The second minor hypothesis is self-adjustment with self-esteem showing a positive relationship by obtaining a value of 0.211 and a significant value of 0.027 (p<0.05) and obtaining an effective contribution of 4,56%. The categorization of the results of this study shows that self-esteem is in the medium category, and peer social support is in the moderate category and self-adjustment is in the low category.
