Abstract
A budget deficit occurs when a country's expenditure is greater than the income it receives. This research aims to determine the effect of the budget deficit on economic development in Indonesia. The budget deficit has an influence on macroeconomics and has a large role in a country's economic growth. Based on what influences the budget deficit in Indonesia, including gross domestic product (GDP), inflation, foreign debt and interest rates. The data used in this research is time series data from the internet where most of the data is taken from Bank Indonesia (BI), the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENKEU) and also the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) or also called literature studies. The data that has been collected is then calculated and processed using the SPSS statistical application and also regression using the Partial Adjustment Model (PAM) approach.
