Abstract
Political communication is the activity of political actors whose message orientation leads to the influence of political decision making. Ganjar is a political actor who actively utilizes his Instagram social media as a medium for political communication. In September 2022, Ganjar's electability as a presidential candidate increased rapidly. Meanwhile, at the same time, two other popular figures, Anies and Prabowo, experienced a decline. This study aims to find out how political communication is carried out by Ganjar Pranowo through Instagram (ganjar_pranowo). The method used is a qualitative research method and uses observation and documentation data collection techniques. The data will be analyzed using Peirce's semiotic theory. The results of the study show that Ganjar's political communication is by positioning himself as a simple person and close to his people. The strategy of using humor is used as social capital so that it is easily accepted by society. The openness of Ganjar's personal preferences increases public trust.
