Abstract

This study explains self-disclosure to student scripting to families by taking case studies on students majoring in communications 2016, UMS. This study arises from the emotional responsibility of final students to parents who often feel that they have not completed the skripsi. The purpose of this study is to see the extent of open communication between final-level students and their families in an effort to communicate their final tasks, as well as see how the depth of final-level students' openness with families is. This type of research is qualitative research using a descriptive (qualitative-descriptive) approach. The sampling used a purposive sampling method by sampling three informants from different backgrounds and regions. The data collection technique is through in-depth interviews to the final students who are still actively working their final tasks. This study answered how self-disclosure related to final student skripsi on inter-personal communication in the family, studies on students majoring in UMS Communication Science? The results of this study explain that each level have their own perceptions or explanations, traits, groups, and effects. At the cliche level, contain good manners or the opening of the conversation as a positive information, thus providing comfort to parents. At the circle of fact level, students began to provide important information that the parents still do not know but remain deep. This level gives an empathetic effect from parents to students. The next is opinion level, where students have their own way to communicating their personal information. At the feelings level, only one participant reached this level. Because at this level, it requires a sense of trust and emotional closeness. The effect at the level of feeling gives high empathy, constant support and solutions from parents to students.
