Abstract
Covid is recognized by the angiotensin 2 (ACE2) receptor, which is found throughout the body and is located in the lungs, cardiovascular system, central nervous system, intestines, kidneys and adipose tissue because ACE2 is widely distributed throughout the body. Clinical symptoms of COVID-19 can appear in any organ. Most of the Covid-19 cases occurred in men (51.4%) and women (48.6%), occurring between the ages 30 and 79 years. This study aims to analyze differences in clinical characteristics of Covid-19 patients based on gender differences. Analytic observation and cross-sectional approach were used as the research design. The research subjects were.UMS students who tested positive for Covid-19 and had to carry out independent isolation, collection techniques were carried out by filling out online surveys, analysis of research data using the Mann-Whitney test, the results showed that 1) there was no significant difference in the characteristics of Covid-19 patients with cough symptoms (p=0.488), fever symptoms (p=0.597), chest pain (p=0.725), flu (p = 0.725), shortness of breath (p = 0.580) and diarrhea (p = 0.471) which led to self-isolation, 2) Covid-19 patients with symptoms had different characteristics anosmia (p=0.000) It can be concluded. That there is no significant difference in the clinical characteristics of Covid-19 patients who carry out independent isolation because they are classified as mild or moderate with Covid.
