Abstract

A resort is a place that provides facilities for recreation and relaxation activities, usually located in beautiful places such as beaches, mountains, or areas that have attractive natural scenery. Resorts usually have various types of accommodation, such as hotels, cottages, villas, or bungalows that can be rented by visitors. However, in Sorong City, there is still no five-star resort that offers facilities for recreational and relaxation activities. The city of Sorong has tourism potential, such as a waterfront view or a city with sea views and a combination of natural panoramas. The landscapes of Waigeo, Batanta, and Salawati islands form a cluster of the Raja Ampat Islands. The city of Sorong is also one of the destinations visited by tourists who will depart or who have visited from Kep. Raja Ampat. The concept that has been determined for reference during the planning and design process is by the title of this report, namely “Sorong City Resort with an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Approach. The application of energy efficiency and conservation in resort buildings can provide benefits in the form of saving operational costs, increasing energy use efficiency, and minimizing negative impacts on the environment. By implementing energy efficiency and conservation in buildings, resorts will be more environmentally friendly and have lower operating costs. In addition, as another attraction for tourists, there are also attractions in the form of local cultural tourism in the form of Masangkede (the tradition of making fire from bamboo), then there are also attractions in the form of the Wutukala dance which is one of the traditional Moi dances. The resort also has a studio to introduce how to make noken crafts from the local community, with the aim that tourists can get to know and learn how to make noken.
