Abstract

Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan as a special characteristic and advantage of Muhammadiyah schools, is one of the targets of renewal in the learning aspect. The renewal in question is oriented towards increasing effectiveness in the use of educational technology, especially learning. Although Muhamamdiyah educational institutions have fantastic superior schools, it does not necessarily show the overall use of technology by teachers in learning Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah (PK) Kota Barat Surakarta and SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar (PK) Sukoharjo. The purpose of this research is to find out the innovation model, implementation, similarities and differences, and obstacles in IT-based Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan learning at SMP Muhammadiyah (PK) Kota Barat Surakarta and SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar (PK) Sukoharjo. This field research uses a qualitative approach by emphasising data analysis in the form of written and spoken words and pictures. The data in this study were collected through interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by deductive method through several steps, namely: data collection coupled with data reduction, presenting data in the form of narratives and descriptions with general to specific reasoning, then drawing conclusions. The results of this study found that IT-based Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan learning innovations for the development of superior schools at SMP Muhammadiyah PK Kota Barat and SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar PK Sukoharjo in three forms, namely teaching materials, learning processes and tools or media used. First, teaching materials are made by teachers in the form of components in learning that are included in the PK Learning Platform and E-Modules. Second, teachers use the E-Learning platform in providing structured assignments, discussion and analysis in learning and providing feedback on assignments and during the teaching and learning process. Third, teachers use digital platforms as media in learning such as PK Learning and E-Modules as independent teaching materials for students. In its overall implementation, the use of platforms such as canva, powerpoint, googleform and zoom meetings are also used in learning Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. Both have similarities and differences in the aspects of learning approaches used as well as interactivity and student involvement. The barriers encountered are internet access, potential technology-related distractions outside of learning and ensuring the relevance of the materials used.
