Abstract

The quality of the shadow teacher is not only intellectual quality, but also the mental and psychological qualities of the shadow teacher require extraordinary emotional maturity and patience. The purpose of this research is to explore the regulation of emotions shadow teacher in early childhood education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research type. The research in this study consisted of 3 shadow teachersin early childhood education.The results of the study explain the regulation of emotions in early childhood education’s shadow teacher, having different strategies for each carried out by the subjects. The strategy of emotional regulation of situation selection (situation selection) was carried out by the subject by leaving the class first while playing on a cell phone, then someone made istighfar while taking a deep breath, and trying to calm down to be patient at that time. Then the situation modificatio n emotional regulation strategy, carried out by the subject by first conditioning the students to be calm, approaching the students to make small talk so that they can focus back on the lesson, and rearranging the messy student desks. Then the attentional deployment strategy was carried out by the subjects by taking a breather, then there were also subjects who left the classroom looking for fresh air. Apart from that, the cognitive change strategy (cognitive change), the subject tries to think when he finds a problem that is related to his special needs student, the subject thinks if it has become part of the responsibility that must be completed properly, then there are also those who think positively if the need for children with special needs requires special attention so you really have to be patient to handle it. As well as the modulation response strategy (response change) carried out by the subject by crying when he really can't stand it anymore, then praying, and convincing himself to always remember Allah SWT.
