Abstract

This research is entitled Potential Analysis and Development of Natural Tourism Objects in Ngawi Regency. The purpose of this research is to identify the potentials of natural tourism objects in Ngawi Regency, then identify strategies for the direction of developing natural tourism objects in Ngawi Regency so that they have good tourist object characteristics, so as to be able to have a good impact on these tourist objects. The tourism industry has an important role in regional development, besides that tourism is also one of the things that influences Regional Original Income (PAD) for local governments. Ngawi Regency is one of the regencies in East Java Province, to be precise, it is located in the west which is directly adjacent to East Java Province. Ngawi Regency is an area that has a very diverse potential of tourist objects, both in terms of historical, cultural and natural tourism potential. Nature tourism takes advantage of natural resources that can be developed into tourism resources, including utilizing geographic locations (Fennel, 1999). Tourism development is one part of regional development, so areas that have the potential to become Tourism Destination Areas (DTW) that are developed will help the regional economy. Tourism development is also inseparable from physical and non-physical (social, cultural and economic) elements. Tourism development has a considerable influence on the development of the area around tourist objects which can be regarded as a leading industry.
