Abstract

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design as the control of a building's functions is crucial to consider. Furthermore, the design not only aims to establish a well-functioning building but also takes into account overall safety, security, and aesthetic considerations. Achieving such alignment can be challenging when conventional methods are used, involving separate calculations and working drawings. Through the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), information in the design is integrated through modeling, reducing errors between different pieces of information. The design was carried out for Building B of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The modeling and design adhere to the Indonesian National Standards (SNI) and the Electrical Installation Code (PUIL) using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software. The MEP design includes the requirements for lighting points, room cooling/air conditioning (HVAC), electrical power needs and necessary protection, plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems. The design results indicate a total electric current of 529.83 A. The required protection includes 3 x 1000 A Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) and the appropriate main cables of 2 x NYFGbY 4 x 150mm². For clean water needs, a ground tank with a capacity of 1,047.52 m³ and a required roof tank of 24 m³ were determined.
