Abstract
Social support for pregnant women has an effect on reducing the anxiety experienced by pregnant women during pregnancy. Social support for pregnant women can be obtained from health cadres who act as support groups. This study aims to analyze the relationship between age, education and occupation of health cadres with social support on the mental health of pregnant women. This research is an observational analytic study conducted at the Ngoresan Health Center in Surakarta City in October 2022. The population for this study was 128 health cadres in the working area of the Ngoresan Health Center, Surakarta City. The number of samples was determined by software, namely OpenEpi online, as many as 105 people. Collecting data using a questionnaire that has been prepared and tested for validity and reliability with valid results (p <0.001) and reliable (alpha cronbach = 0.899). Questionnaires were filled out independently by cadres. Data analysis was tested with the chi square test using statistical software. The results of this study indicate that some health cadres are in the age range of 50-72 years (53.3%). Most have senior high school education as many as 62 cadres (59%). The most unemployed cadres (IRT) were 67 cadres (63.3%). There is no relationship between age (p value = 0.092), education (p value = 0.929) and occupation (p value = 0.230) with the social support of health cadres on the mental health of pregnant women. Further research is needed by considering other variables such as knowledge, attitudes, training, years of service and experience of cadres.
