Abstract

Career maturity is an individual's ability to make decisions based on an evaluation of internal knowledge and the knowledge needed to make career choices. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is an influence of self-concept and parental attention on the career maturity of final year students. The population in this study were final year students who were taking thesis courses at the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. A sample of 100 students was determined by purposive sampling. The data collection method uses a career maturity scale, self-concept scale, and parental attention scale which are shared online via the Google form link. Data analysis technique using multiple regression. The results of multiple regression analysis show that there is a significant influence between self-concept and parental attention to career maturity with a correlation coefficient (R = 0.495) and (F table = 15,771 > F table = 3.089) with a level (p = 0,000; p < 0,05), then there is a positive influence a very significant relationship between self-concept and career maturity (r = 0.247, p = 0,001; p < 0,05), and there is a very significant positive effect between parental attention and career maturity (r = 0.389, p= 0,000; p < 0,05). The effective contribution of self-concept variables and parental attention to career maturity is 24.56% with details of self-concept variables of 7.68% and parental attention of 16.88
