Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the problem-based learning model in economics for class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach design. This research was carried out in a village complex near rice fields, namely Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen High School, even though it is near rice fields, this school is progressing. The subjects in this study were the principal, deputy principal, economics teacher in class X and 3 students in class X. The object of this study was economics class X. By using observation data collection techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study uses data reduction analysis, data display and conclusive drawing/verification. Based on the research that has been done, it shows that: the implementation of the problem-based learning model that is carried out in this school is carried out in two stages, namely the preparatory stage, before starting learning in the economics subject teacher class first makes preparations related to the learning model used to achieve the success of learning objectives . Furthermore, in the implementation stage, when implementing the problem-based learning model, students are formed into 3 groups selected according to the number of attendance sequences, then carry out discussions on market structure issues including, monopolistic market, logopoly market, and monopoly market. The implementation of the learning model goes well according to the steps of the problem-based learning model, namely: orienting students to problems, organizing students' learning, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting work, analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process.
