Abstract
Researchers are interested to learn this issue and the issue of sex in this study is very important because it is considered very controversial in society. The reason is, recently, there was a lot of discussion about a YouTube channel that made 21+ program where in the content there were several women who discussed adult chats in a vulgar and inappropriate manner. What made netizens furious was their statement claiming that the content they uploaded was part of sex education wich is aimed for Indonesian people who still consider sexual education a taboo. The content in question is the GirlsClass 21+ program from the Voox Media YouTube channel. This study research about how the receptions of women who have different backgrounds interpret vulgar videos in the GirlsClass 21+ program. This research is analyzed using Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory which considers that the audience's acceptance of a text can different according to the audience's background, which is divided into three positions, namely the dominant hegemony position, negotiation and opposition. The type of research used is qualitative research with an interpretive paradigm. The results of analyzing interview transcripts from 6 audiences, it was found that most of them are in an oppositional position where they reject the meaning of the message producer.
