Abstract
This research is motivated by the rise of juvenile delinquency in Indonesia which can cause the loss of Islamic values in today's teenagers. Juvenile delinquency that is rife at this time, such as damage to morality, promiscuity, securing drugs, motorcycle gangs, criminal acts, and so on. Because of the prevalence of juvenile delinquency, the role of parents as first educators is important in conducting coaching efforts for their teenagers by strengthening the Muslim personality in teenagers. One of the efforts made by parents who are located in Kupang Village, Karangdowo District, Klaten Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out the role of parents in fostering the personality of Muslim teenagers in Kupang Village, Karangdowo District, Klaten Regency and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors of parents in developing the personality of Muslim teenagers in Kupang Village, Karangdowo District, Klaten Regency. The type of research used is a type of field research or commonly called field research. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity technique is by triangulating techniques and sources. While the technique in analyzing data using the theory of Miles and Huberman, namely through the stages of reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained in this study are in fostering the personality of Muslim adolescents, the efforts made by parents are to set an example by setting an example or setting, being an educator to practice habituation, giving wise advice to adolescents, giving attention or supervision, as well as giving punishments and gifts to teenagers. Factors supporting the role of parents in Kupang Village in fostering the Muslim personality of their teenage children are awareness in adolescents, extended family support, good understanding of religion by parents, the influence of Islamic-based school education, the positive influence of peers and a good community environment, and the use of technology for positive things. While the inhibiting factors are the lack of awareness of adolescents, the lack of understanding of parents' religion, the busyness of parents, unfavorable peer and environmental factors, and the use of technological developments for negative things.
