Abstract

In working on the thesis, students need a thesis supervisor. The selection of the thesis supervisor in the UMS Informatics study program is free for students. Some students find it difficult to determine the appropriate thesis supervisor, so they cannot complete their thesis on time. So a SPK is needed that can provide recommendations to students so that they can choose a thesis supervisor that suits their interests and can complete the thesis on time. The calculation process for SPK uses the Simple Additive Weighting method by looking for the weighted sum of each performance rating for each alternative on all attributes so that the final result is a ranking of the available alternatives. System development uses the Vuejs and Bulma frameworks, while the database uses Firebase Firestore. Fulfillment of data is done by survey using Google Form to produce 8 criteria, 57 sub-criteria, and 9 alternatives. The resulting SPK is a web-based SPK-PDPS, accessible via desktop and mobile. Features include Alternatives, Criteria, Monitor Guidance Quotas, SAW Search, Supervisor Reservations, Profiles and Guidelines. System testing is carried out using Black Box testing and SUS testing. The results of the Black Box test show that all features can function properly while the SUS test results produce an average value of 82.083 from 30 respondents so that this system is acceptable. Making the SPK-PDPS will reduce student ambiguity in determining the thesis supervisor that suits their interests.
