Abstract

Mice are one of the pests that are often found in various places that are slum and also damp, this problem many people complain about. If the rat population cannot be handled properly and correctly, it will result in an explosion in the rat population. As a result of the booming rat population which is also detrimental, one way to control the rat population apart from being poisoned is by trapping/trapping mice. A mousetrap is a tool used to catch and usually kill rats. The existence of this mouse trap can reduce the presence of rats in the Berkah Bakul Beras grocery store. The purpose of this research is to design and create a tool that can be used automatically and can be monitored from useful gadgets for developing current technology. The method used in this research is direct observation to the place and listening to the problems conveyed by the owner of the basic food shop in order to find out the core of the problems that occur at the Berkah Bakul Nasi basic food shop and to find out the locations that are often occupied by rats to nest and damage the basic food materials. The next method is designing a tool that fits the conditions in the store and then implementing it directly into a tool, namely a mouse trap using nodeMCU. The test phase was carried out using a mouse which aims to find out whether the passive infrared sensor (PIR) and the FC-51 infrared sensor can work properly and correctly, for data retrieval taken from the speed of the sensor sending signals to nodeMCU and the stability of the wifi network captured by nodeMCU. The results of the test found that the FC-51 infrared sensor is efficiently used at a distance of 1-5 cm and a passive infrared sensor at a distance of 1-7 cm. The wifi connection distance with nodeMCU is efficient, namely with a distance of 0.5-3 meters. From testing the data that has been done, automatic mouse traps can make it easier for users to trap mice because they save time and effort and can be monitored from the Telegram application..
