Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has diversity, one of which is language. People often use two or more languages in communicating. This study aims to (1) describe the forms of code mixing in @jojosuherman's Twitter posts; (2) describe the forms of code switching in @jojosuherman's Twitter posts. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. All data was obtained from the Twitter account @jojosuherman in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences. The data source for this research is the upload on the Twitter account @jojosuherman regarding the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Data collection techniques with a combination of techniques of observation, data collection, documentation and note-taking. The data analysis technique uses the distribution method with the basic technique in the form of the Direct Element Sharing (BUL) technique. The results of this study obtained 43 data forms and types of code switching. There are 24 data forms of code mixing and 19 forms of code switching. In this study, the authors found 3 code-mixed data for the insertion of word elements, 7 data for code-mixed clause insertion, 1 data for code-mixed insertion of word repetition elements, and 13 data for code-mixed clause insertion. In this type of code switching, the researcher found 6 data of code switching from Indonesian to Javanese, 4 data of code switching from Javanese to Indonesian, 3 data of code switching from English to Indonesian, 4 data of code switching from Indonesian to Indonesian. English and 2 code-switching data from Javanese to English This study examines the 3 languages contained in uploads to the Twitter account @jojosuherman, namely Indonesian, Javanese and English.
