Abstract
The Imam Syuhodo Modern Islamic Boarding School has activities that support the implementation of strengthening character education which are organized through educational organizations, namely the Muhammadiyah Student Association Organization. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research related to the implementation of strengthening character education for female students through the IPM organizational work program at the Imam Syuhodo Modern Islamic Boarding School. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of strengthening female students' character education through the work program of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) organization at the Imam Syuhodo Islamic Boarding School and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research is a qualitative research using a phenomenological approach. The data collection uses interview, observation and documentation methods. The data validation technique used is source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique is by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the implementation of strengthening female students' character education at the Imam Syuhodo Modern Islamic Boarding School is carried out through the IPM work program which is manifested in various Islamic boarding school activities that have contributed to strengthening female students' character education. There are five character values that are developed through the IPM work program, namely the first, religious character values that are developed through the field of worship. second, the value of the character of the spirit of studying that is developed through work programs in the field of tarbiyah or education. third, the character value of caring for the environment that can be developed through work programs in the cleaning sector. Fourth, the character values of discipline and responsibility, as a whole the work program that has been prepared by the pesantren can foster the character values of discipline and responsibility. Supporting factors include a) total performance of IPM management, b) pesantren support for all IPM work programs and c) assistance from ustadzahs. The inhibiting factors for strengthening character education include; a) there are differences in the character and awareness of each santriwaati, and b) related to the adaptation of the santri to the pesantren environment
