Abstract

UMS has been faced with a renovation plan for the Faculty of Engineering (FT) building since mid-July 2018. However, until this news is revealed, the issue of rebuilding the building is not known when it will begin. The Faculty of Engineering itself has designed the new Faculty of Engineering building several times. There are several reasons why the Faculty of Engineering itself made several changes. One of them is that the existing design does not meet the needs of the Faculty of Engineering UMS. The increase in the number of students must be balanced with the development of facilities and infrastructure, including lecture buildings. Energy efficiency is one of the initiatives to reduce energy use so that it can preserve natural resources by optimising energy use. Energy and Water Saving is also stated in the Presidential Instruction of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2011. Through appropriate energy efficiency concepts, buildings can effectively reduce energy use. One of the principles, Energy Matters, of Eco-Tech architecture is about utilising technological advances, energy efficient buildings can be achieved. Facilities and infrastructure in the world of lectures are important for engineering students. Academic and non-academic activities require a forum such as a student centre. The Faculty of Engineering UMS itself has DPM FT, BEM FT, Student Families for each department, and several Student Activity Units. So a container is needed to accommodate all academic and non-academic activities such as the Student Centre
