Abstract
Sumowono is a village in Sumowono District, Semarang Regency, Central Java, which is located at the foot of Mount Ungaran. Sumowono is famous for its beautiful mountain panoramas and the availability of natural, artificial, and special interest tourist attractions that are currently developing. Complete supporting facilities in tourist areas are one way to attract tourists, one of which is by providing accommodation facilities. Accommodation facilities are currently very popular because they are not only a place to spend the night, but can also be used as a place for healing for a while (not spending the night), playing, taking fun pictures, and so on if they provide supporting facilities other than a place to stay. Designing cottages in Sumowono, Central Java is an alternative to providing accommodation facilities that expose mountain panoramas with a biophilic architectural approach that aims to improve the well-being of human life mentally and physically by integrating nature. The method used to collect data is descriptive-qualitative method, namely data collection by searching for literature studies, site surveys, comparative studies, and data presentation. The purpose of making these cottages is to attract and accommodate tourists who need a temporary stopover in Sumowono, Central Java and to take advantage of and develop the natural charm of the mountains.
