Abstract

The market is a place for conducting transactions between sellers and buyers, both transactions in the form of goods or services. Sentra Niaga H. Abdul Malik Market is a traditional market located in West Cikarang. This market has an important role in meeting the needs of the people of West Cikarang. However, this market still has various problems such as hot, stuffy market conditions, narrow circulation, unorganized and dirty arrangement of traders, which makes users uncomfortable when doing activities in the market. Therefore it is necessary to redesign the H. Abdul Malik Commercial Sentra Market which aims to respond to the existing problem conditions in the field. The approach used is to use the concept of contemporary Betawi architecture. Betawi architecture, which is considered an ancient style, has been reprocessed and adapted to current developments. With the use of this concept can give a new and contemporary feel. In addition, it can be a special attraction for buildings that have a local cultural identity. It is hoped that by redesigning the Sentra Niaga H. Abdul Malik Market, it can make it a clean, organized and comfortable market for users.
