Abstract

Circulation is an important aspect in a space. This is because circulation can determine the space for users to find their destination. As is the case in the space within the Purwodadi Market which has an even and effective circulation path. However, over time, problems arose in circulation and zoning in the market. This can be seen from the quiet area of the market and the large number of traders selling in circulation routes, such as corridors, halls and stairs. Therefore, this Purwodadi Market Redesign can aim to provide design solutions to circulation and zoning problems. Effective and evenly distributed market circulation in every corner can be minimized by the existence of dead or marginalized spaces. Then it can create design alternatives that will be analyzed with the concept of adapting the value of syntax clarity to identify effective and evenly spaced circulation in every corner. The results of the analysis are expected to improve the effective quality of space for users.
