Abstract

The development of children with special needs is increasing, but it is inversely proportional to the development of extraordinary schools that become a forum for educational and therapeutic services for ABK. In Karanganyar itself, special schools do not yet have adequate learning facilities for children with special needs. Precisely in Colomadu, SLB specifically for the deaf and mentally retarded has not been found. Learning at SLB in Karanganyar still uses an ordinary education system that does not lift the stimulus for children to be creative with a behavioral architecture approach. The application of behavioral architecture is used because children with special needs have special behavior compared to other children. To obtain related data, data collection is carried out which will be analyzed for reference in designing extraordinary schools as creative spaces with a behavioral architecture approach. So the idea emerged of designing extraordinary schools as creative spaces with a behavioral architecture approach that not only focuses on ABK therapy but also in accommodating children to be creative. This is by creating a creative space that provides comfort and a sense of freedom in accordance with the behavior of children with special needs. As well as creating a space that blends with the environment to stimulate more creativity.
